Arriving at the city of Volos

 

  • By coach from Athens (journey length 4.15hrs)

The coach to Volos departs from the Liossion KTEL bus station. The nearest Metro station  is "Kato Patissia" .

How to get from Athens airport (Airport Eleftherios Venizelos, ATH) to Liossion coach station: take the blue line train (Line 3) from the airport. Change at Monastiraki Station (right at the heart of Athens): take the green line train (Line 1) to Kato Patissia Station. From there you can either walk (it'll take 10-15 min) or take a taxi.

 

 
  • By coach from Thessaloniki (journey length 2.30hrs)

Take bus 78, 78A or 78N  Thessaloniki Airport and to Macedonia Intercity Bus Station (KTEL). From there take the coach to Volos

  • By train from Athens (you have to change at the city of Larissa - total journey length 5hrs)

To get to the train station take the Athens suburban railway from Athens airport (Airport Eleftherios Venizelos, ATH) to Larissa Station (Stathmos Larissis)

Take the blue line train (Line 3) from the airport. Change at Syntagma Station (right at the heart of Athens): take the red line train (Line 2) to Larissa Station (Stathmos Larissis)

NB: Larissa Station (Stathmos Larissis) is the name of the main Athens Train Station. This is to be distinguished from the city of Larissa (appr 350 km north of Athens), where you have to change train, getting on the local train to Volos.

 

  • By train from Thessaloniki (you also have to change at the city of Larissa - 2 hrs and 30 mins total journey length / much better connection service)

To get to from the airport to New Railway Station ((Neos Sidirodromikos Stathmos) take bus 78, 78A or 78N

  • By car from Athens (324 km)

Take the E-65 / Athens-Thessaloniki national road. Choose the exit Mikrothives (290 km)  or the exit Velestino (310 km) to Volos 

  • By car from Thessaloniki (210 km)

Take the E-65 /Thessaloniki-Athens national road. Choose the exit Velestino (190 km) to Volos

 

 ** [New] Nea Anchialos National Airport (VOL) situated about 20km away from the city of Volos serves some charter
